Since I was probably 15 (when I started learning guitar), I always wrote songs. It is fun, and there are no rules. I like music because it lets you explore feelings and express ideas in ways that people can interact with on a more personal level. Music reaches something deep and primal within a human, at least it does for me.
When I was a teenager, I started a diary/journal as many young people do, telling myself I was going to continue writing until I was old, and I would document my life and feelings and observations throughout the years. The physical ‘writing in a book’ part did not last, but I told myself songs were good, perhaps even better than printed word, to document my personal journey through this thing we call life. So I told myself I would just keep writing and recording songs and try to convey my experiences and travails through music.
Have I been at all successful? You be the judge. Some of the songs are profane, some you can sing children to sleep with. Some are intellectual pursuits, some are trivial fad pop-trash. Some were written with friends, some were written in dream. Some are good for dancing to, some are good for a sad companion, but most are just for fun.
Like a good book or song or idea that sticks in your head, hopefully you hear a juicy hook or melody in my music that resonates with you and will help you on your journey round the sun, one more time.

A couple of random new tracks. ‘Tricks Town‘ is a new song by Flora (my daughter) dealing with an imaginary world we play pretend with stuffed animals in called Tricks Town. ‘Golden Grain‘ is by my son, Cyrus. Sounds like it’s about a Minecraft adventure or something. And ‘Yellow Jacket Surprise‘ which is a musical tale of me getting stung by yellow jackets. Enjoy!
